Google’s Gemini AI to Power Apple’s Next-Gen Siri

In a landmark collaboration spanning multiple years, tech giants Apple and Google have announced a partnership. The next generation of Apple’s Siri and future intelligence features will be powered by Google’s Gemini AI models. This deal signifies a major shift in Apple’s AI strategy as it turns to external AI expertise for its core products.

As per the joint statement, the Apple Foundation Models will be based on Google’s Gemini technology and cloud infrastructure. The enhanced Siri, which boasts improved personal context understanding and on-screen awareness, is slated for a 2026 launch with iOS 26.4, likely in March or April.

This partnership is a significant victory for Google in the competitive AI landscape. This comes especially after the company’s Gemini 3 model received rave reviews in late 2025. Bloomberg reports suggest that Apple could shell out approximately $1 billion annually for the technology.

Despite the collaboration, Apple assures that all AI features will continue to run on Apple devices and Private Cloud Compute, thereby upholding the company’s privacy standards. The integration of ChatGPT with Siri will remain unchanged.
