Archer Aviation and NVIDIA Join Forces for AI-Driven Air Taxis
At CES 2026, Archer Aviation unveiled a pioneering partnership with NVIDIA. The collaboration aims to incorporate cutting-edge artificial intelligence technologies into Archer’s electric air taxi aircraft, leveraging the power of the NVIDIA IGX Thor platform. Announced on January 8, 2026, this partnership is set to redefine aviation safety and autonomy.
Archer’s strategy involves deploying NVIDIA’s IGX Thor—NVIDIA’s most potent safety-capable AI computing module—in three key areas:
- Enhancing pilot safety: This will be achieved through real-time environmental sensing and flight-path data processing.
- Developing AI systems: The focus will be on seamless airspace integration with improved routing logic.
- Building autonomy-ready flight controls: These will be designed for future semi-autonomous operations.
The partnership, initiated in early 2025, will be highlighted at Archer’s newly acquired Hawthorne airport in Los Angeles. This location will serve dual purposes as an operational hub for Archer’s proposed LA air taxi network and as a testing ground for AI-driven aviation technologies. “CES has always been a launchpad for technologies that reshape industries,” stated Adam Goldstein, Archer’s CEO. The initial integration process is already in progress, with wider applications anticipated across manufacturing, fleet operations, and pilot training.
