Cirrus Aircraft Unveils Advanced Safety Features in 2026 SR Series G7+

Cirrus Aircraft unveiled its 2026 SR Series G7+ aircraft lineup on January 6, 2026, introducing significant upgrades to the SR20, SR22, and SR22T models. These enhancements focus on improving connectivity, safety, and design.

Groundbreaking Safety Features

The 2026 models come equipped with groundbreaking safety features that provide unprecedented pilot assistance and situational awareness in single-engine piston aircraft. These features include:

  • Safe Return Emergency Autoland
  • Automatic Database Updates powered by Cirrus IQ PRO Advanced
  • Runway Occupancy Awareness
  • Smart Pitot Heat

Enhanced Connectivity

Connectivity receives a significant boost with the enhanced Cirrus Global Connect capabilities. The aircraft now offers more detailed weather products, including storm cell movement, turbulence, and icing information, updated automatically every five minutes. The cabin now features higher-power USB-C ports, including two 60W ports in front and two 100W ports in the rear, designed to support modern devices and optional Starlink integration.

New Propeller Upgrade Option

The 2026 SR22 introduces a new four-blade composite propeller upgrade option for the first time, joining the standard three-blade propeller. Cirrus CEO Zean Nielsen stated that the updates provide “more choice, more connectivity, and more pilot convenience combined with established safety systems.”

Best-Selling High-Performance Aircraft

The SR Series is the best-selling high-performance single-engine piston aircraft, with Cirrus recently celebrating its 11,000th SR Series delivery. The 2026 updates are rounded out with new exterior design collections and three premium paint colors—Tangerine, Maldives, and Viridian.
