Piper M700 Fury Receives UK Certification for FIKI Operations
Piper Aircraft has been granted type certification from the United Kingdom Civil Aviation Authority (UK CAA) for its flagship M700 FURY turboprop. This includes approval for Flight into Known Icing (FIKI) operations. The certification, announced on December 17, 2024, opens the door for deliveries to the UK market, with the first delivery slated for this month.
The M700 FURY is Piper’s fastest single-engine aircraft to date. It boasts a maximum cruise speed of 301 knots and a maximum range of 1,424 nautical miles. The six-seat cabin-class turboprop is powered by a Pratt & Whitney PT6A-52 engine and comes standard with the HALO Safety System, which features Garmin Emergency Autoland technology.
This certification marks the completion of the last of Piper’s customer-committed certifications promised at the start of 2024. The company is now focusing on securing additional foreign certifications for Mexico, Colombia, and Asian markets.
The British European Aviation Group, Piper’s dealer for the UK region, intends to announce dates for a 2025 sales tour across the UK, Ireland, Channel Islands, Spain, and Portugal.
