A New Era in Anti-Aging: The LED Face Mask Outperforming the Competition by 340%
A groundbreaking scientific study published in October 2024 has unveiled a revolutionary face-conforming LED mask developed by Korean researchers. This innovative technology delivers dramatically superior anti-aging results compared to conventional LED therapy devices.
The study, spearheaded by Professor Keon Jae Lee’s team at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), tested their pioneering Face-conforming Surface Lighting micro-LED (FSLED) mask on 33 participants. The results were nothing short of remarkable: the FSLED mask demonstrated a 340% improvement in deep skin elasticity compared to traditional LED masks.
The key to this breakthrough lies in the mask’s unique 3D origami structure. Integrated with 3,770 micro-LEDs and a flexible surface light-diffusion layer, this design eliminates gaps between the light source and skin. Conventional LED masks lose up to 90% of their light through reflection due to poor skin contact. However, this new technology ensures uniform photostimulation reaches deep dermis layers.
“The FSLED mask provides cosmetic benefits to the entire facial dermis without the side effects of low-temperature burns, making home-care anti-aging treatment that enhances the quality of human life possible,” said Professor Lee.
The technology is being manufactured by Fronics, a KAIST startup company, and is set to be distributed globally through Amorepacific’s network starting in November 2024.
