Record-Breaking 2024 General Aviation Aircraft Deliveries Reach $31.2B, Reports GAMA
The General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA) has released its 2024 Aircraft Shipment and Billing Report. The report showcases a robust industry performance, with nearly all aircraft segments posting increases. Total aircraft deliveries were valued at a staggering $31.2 billion. This represents a 13.3% increase over 2023 and marks the first time in a decade that the industry has exceeded $30 billion in annual billings.
Leading the growth were business jet deliveries, which saw a 4.7% increase to 764 units. Similarly, piston aircraft shipments rose by 4.2% to 1,772 units. The value of airplane deliveries reached $26.7 billion, up 14.3% from the previous year. However, turboprop deliveries saw a slight decline of 1.9% to 626 units. Meanwhile, helicopter shipments remained relatively stable, with piston helicopters at 210 units and turbine helicopters at 746 units.
“This strong performance provides great momentum into 2025, but it is essential that policymakers and regulators on both sides of the Atlantic recognize that for continued growth, they must work with industry on policy issues such as taxes, trade, regulations and supply chain,” said Pete Bunce, GAMA president and CEO.
The report was presented during GAMA’s annual State of the Industry Press Conference, highlighting the second consecutive year the industry shipped more than 4,000 units.
