Business Jets Propel General Aviation Market Growth in Q3 2025: GAMA Report
The General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA) recently unveiled its third quarter 2025 shipment report. The report highlights a robust performance in the business jet sector, despite mixed outcomes in other aircraft categories. Year-over-year, business jet deliveries surged by 10.6%, hitting 554 units in the first nine months of 2025. This is a significant increase compared to 501 aircraft delivered during the same period in 2024.
The total value of airplane deliveries soared to $19.4 billion through September 2025. This represents a hefty 13.2% increase over the previous year. In the third quarter alone, global manufacturers delivered 768 airplanes and 209 helicopters. Piston aircraft continued to dominate, accounting for the largest share of deliveries with 1,238 units year-to-date.
GAMA observed in its December 2 release, “The quarter reflected an overall increase in the value of all general aviation aircraft shipments over the same quarter in 2024.” While business jets and piston aircraft exhibited growth, other categories such as turboprops, piston helicopters, and turbine helicopters saw slight declines. This suggests a market shift towards higher-value aircraft segments.
