Supergoop! Appoints Former Amazon Beauty Exec, Melis del Rey, as CEO
Supergoop!, the SPF-focused skincare brand, has announced the appointment of Melis del Rey as its Chief Executive Officer and Board Director, effective from December 8, 2024. Del Rey, who will be relocating from Seattle to New York for the position, brings over two decades of experience from Amazon and Procter & Gamble to the sunscreen company.
Del Rey was most recently serving as the General Manager of Amazon U.S. Health and Beauty. She led a major transformation of Amazon’s prestige beauty business, successfully attracting luxury brands like L’Oréal Luxe and Estée Lauder Companies to the platform. Under her leadership, Amazon evolved from a replenishment-driven channel into a leading beauty destination. Del Rey succeeds Gregory Polcer, who served as interim CEO since May 2024 and will continue on Supergoop!’s board of directors.
“Supergoop! is one of those rare brands that defines a category rather than simply participating in it,” said del Rey, emphasizing the brand’s mission to expand daily SPF adoption globally.
