In a significant leadership transition, Marla Beck has stepped down as President and CEO of BeautyHealth, the parent company of the popular skincare brand, Hydrafacial. Pedro Malha, a seasoned healthcare executive with over two decades of experience, assumed the role on October 1, 2025.

Malha’s impressive career includes a tenure as Worldwide Division President and Corporate Officer at Abbott Laboratories, where he spearheaded the neuromodulation business. His extensive background also boasts senior leadership roles at Zimmer Biomet Holdings and Johnson & Johnson in Europe.

Beck, the founder of the Bluemercury beauty retailer, officially took the helm of BeautyHealth in March 2024. She guided the company through a significant transformation period. Under her leadership, the company achieved several milestones:

  • Strengthened its innovation pipeline
  • Upgraded manufacturing operations
  • Improved profit margins

Beck will continue to serve in an advisory role to ensure a smooth transition. Brent Saunders, Chairman of the Board, lauded Malha’s ability to navigate complex global markets and build high-performing teams. He expressed confidence in Malha’s leadership, describing him as “the right person to lead BeautyHealth into its next chapter.”
