Hartzell Engine Tech Secures FAA Approval for PowerUP S-1200 Magnetos
Hartzell Engine Tech, a subsidiary of Signia Aerospace, has proudly announced its receipt of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Parts Manufacturer Approval (PMA) for its PowerUP S-1200 Series aircraft magnetos. The PowerUP S-1200 magneto is a direct replacement for general aviation aircraft, meticulously designed for both 4- and 6-cylinder engines with impulse-coupled and “Shower of Sparks” configurations available.
The magnetos offer superior high-altitude performance, capable of operating up to 30,000 feet without pressurization. They feature enhanced components for improved durability and efficiency, including:
- Improved flange
- Optimized timing cam
- Upgraded fasteners
- Enhanced access plugs
“Achieving PMA for the S-1200 Series magnetos is another step in expanding our commitment to providing the aviation community with the most trusted and durable ‘firewall forward’ solutions,” stated Rick Quave, Vice President Engineering for Hartzell Engine Tech.
The company has already started accepting distribution orders and anticipates global stocking availability by the end of the first quarter of 2026. The PowerUP line is a valuable addition to Hartzell Engine Tech’s portfolio of engine accessories and heating solutions, catering to both general aviation and military applications.
