Qantas Debuts A321XLR Service at Brisbane Airport

Qantas has proudly unveiled its state-of-the-art Airbus A321XLR aircraft at Brisbane Airport, initiating daily return services between Brisbane and Sydney starting from November 17, 2024. This milestone places the Australian carrier as the fourth airline worldwide and the premier in the Asia-Pacific region to operate this advanced aircraft.

The A321XLR boasts a series of impressive features, significantly enhancing the passenger experience. These include 60% more baggage space than Boeing 737s, wider seats, higher ceilings, larger windows, and complimentary Wi-Fi. The aircraft has the capacity to accommodate 197 passengers (20 Business, 177 Economy) and offers superior fuel efficiency, aligning with Qantas’ sustainability objectives.

Brisbane Airport CEO, Gert-Jan de Graaff, has commended the aircraft’s quieter operation, which is a boon for both passengers and neighboring communities. This deployment forms a crucial part of Qantas’ most extensive fleet renewal program to date, with over 200 aircraft on order from Airbus and Boeing.
