CHIEF Awards 2024: Honoring Innovation in Caribbean Hotels
The Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association (CHTA) recently announced the winners of the 2024 Caribbean Hotel Industry Exchange Forum (CHIEF) Awards. The prestigious event took place in Miami from November 18-20, 2024, celebrating outstanding achievements in the hospitality industry across five key categories:
- Environmental Sustainability
- Innovative Sales and Marketing
- People Development and Support
- Social Responsibility
- Tech Transformation
Ti Kaye Resort & Spa in Saint Lucia claimed the top Environmental Sustainability award for its comprehensive green initiatives. These included expanding solar energy capacity and setting an ambitious goal to cut fossil fuel electricity use by 50%.
The Innovative Sales and Marketing category was won by The Rockley by Ocean Hotels Barbados. The hotel was recognized for authentically reflecting Barbadian culture through collaboration with local artisans.
Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort in Aruba topped the People Development and Support category. The resort introduced AI tools to enhance internal processes and expanded holistic health programs for staff.
The CHIEF Awards highlighted how Caribbean hospitality leaders are embracing change, championing innovation, and elevating visitor experiences. All this while prioritizing sustainability and community development. With finalists representing 12 destinations across the Caribbean, the CHIEF Awards demonstrated the region’s commitment to excellence and forward-thinking practices in hospitality.
