OpenAI Introduces ChatGPT Pro: Premium Access to Advanced AI Models
OpenAI has recently launched ChatGPT Pro, a premium subscription tier priced at $200 per month. This offering is part of the “12 Days of OpenAI” announcement series and provides unlimited access to the company’s most sophisticated AI models.
The newly introduced ChatGPT Pro plan encompasses unlimited access to OpenAI’s most intelligent model, the o1. In addition, subscribers can also access the o1-mini, GPT-4o, and Advanced Voice capabilities. The key feature of this plan is the “o1 pro mode.” This mode utilizes a significantly higher amount of computational power to deliver enhanced reasoning for the most intricate problems.
As per OpenAI, the o1 pro mode offers more dependable and comprehensive responses. It particularly excels in fields such as data science, programming, and case law analysis. The model “thinks longer” to provide the most accurate answers. This has been confirmed by external expert testers who have reported improved performance across challenging benchmarks.
“As AI becomes more advanced, it takes significantly more compute to power these capabilities,” OpenAI stated. The Pro tier is specifically designed for researchers, engineers, and professionals who require research-grade AI intelligence on a daily basis. To further support medical research, OpenAI is awarding 10 grants of ChatGPT Pro access to leading medical institutions in the U.S., with plans to expand to other regions and research areas.
