Emirates Expands Fleet with $3.4B Airbus A350 Jets Order at Dubai Airshow 2025
Emirates, reinforcing its status as a global aviation leader, announced an order for eight additional Airbus A350-900 aircraft, worth US$ 3.4 billion, at the Dubai Airshow 2025 on November 19. This significant expansion marks a new chapter in the airline’s modern fleet.
The new order, powered by Rolls-Royce Trent XWB84 engines, increases Emirates’ total A350-900 commitment to 73 units. Thirteen of these have already been delivered since the aircraft entered service in November 2024. The additional aircraft are scheduled for delivery in 2031, equipped with Emirates’ latest inflight products, including the popular Premium Economy seats.
Alongside Emirates’ recent order for 65 additional Boeing 777-9 aircraft, the airline’s total commitment to new aircraft at the Dubai Airshow 2025 reached a staggering US$ 41.4 billion at list prices. This massive investment equips Emirates with 375 next-generation widebody aircraft in its pipeline, comprising A350-900s, 777-9s, and freighter aircraft.
This strategic fleet expansion is set to enhance Dubai’s accessibility for international travelers and bolster the city’s status as a global tourism hub. HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Emirates’ Chairman and CEO, emphasized that the A350 has provided “welcome additional capacity” and facilitated the introduction of advanced passenger amenities across more routes.
