Clay Lacy Aviation Earns Lease for Eco-Friendly Facility at Sun Valley FBO

Clay Lacy Aviation has secured a lease to construct and operate a Fixed-Base Operation (FBO) at Friedman Memorial Airport (SUN) in Hailey, Idaho, catering to the Sun Valley resort area. The proposed 10-acre eco-friendly facility will incorporate natural materials such as stone and wood beams, in a tribute to the Central Idaho Dark Sky Reserve.

“We are privileged to introduce a sustainable approach that will enhance the general aviation experience at Friedman Memorial Airport,” stated Scott Cutshall, Clay Lacy’s President of Real Estate and Sustainability. The meticulously planned FBO aims to achieve carbon neutrality and is anticipated to receive LEED Gold certification.

This facility marks Clay Lacy Aviation’s fourth location across the nation and is slated for completion by 2027. The company recently made history by becoming the first FBO provider to be accredited by the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) as a Sustainable Flight Department in the Infrastructure category.
