Fitbit Premium Users Welcome Google’s AI Health Coach

Google has officially launched its eagerly-awaited, Gemini-powered AI health coach for Fitbit Premium users in the United States. The launch date was today, October 28, 2025. The AI health coach is part of a preview version that comes with a completely redesigned Fitbit app. The app is centered around AI-driven wellness guidance and personalized fitness planning.

The AI coach provides personalized fitness plans based on individual goals, available equipment, and health data. Users can interact with the coach in a natural conversation style via an “Ask Coach” button available throughout the app. This interaction results in tailored workout suggestions, sleep guidance, and wellness insights. The system is designed to adapt workout plans based on real-time data, adjusting recommendations if users show signs of poor sleep or low readiness scores.

Currently, this preview is only available on Android devices. However, iOS support is on its way. The preview requires a Fitbit Premium subscription and is compatible with Pixel Watches and Fitbit devices. Google emphasizes that this is a work-in-progress preview, with some features missing initially as the company gathers user feedback for improvements. The full rollout is planned for next year, alongside new Fitbit hardware.
