Textron Aviation Employees Conclude Strike with a 31% Salary Increase Agreement
After a nearly month-long strike, around 5,000 Textron Aviation employees, represented by the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) District 70, Local Lodge 774, voted in favor of a new five-year contract on October 20, 2024. This agreement marks the return of these workers to their positions at the Cessna and Beechcraft manufacturing plants from Wednesday, October 23.
The ratified contract presents a significant improvement over the company’s previous offers. The highlights of the new contract include:
- A 31% general wage increase spread over five years, with an immediate 11% raise upon ratification.
- Guaranteed $3,000 annual lump sum payments.
- Improved longevity pay.
- Limits on health insurance premium increases.
Furthermore, this agreement ensures that major manufacturing operations will continue in Wichita, Kansas. This provides job security for one of the city’s largest employers, which boasts a workforce of over 10,000 employees.
