Leadership Transition at Beauty Health: Pedro Malha Takes the Helm as New CEO
Marla Beck, the former CEO of The Beauty Health Company, the parent company of the renowned HydraFacial brand, has passed the baton to Pedro Malha, who will now serve as the new president and chief executive officer. Beck, who assumed the leadership role in March 2024 and is the founder of Bluemercury, will continue to provide her guidance in an advisory capacity.
Malha, with his vast experience spanning over two decades in the healthcare and medical device sectors, is well-equipped for his new role. His most recent position was as the worldwide division president and corporate officer of Abbott Laboratories, where he spearheaded the neuromodulation business. His leadership journey also includes significant roles at Zimmer Biomet Holdings and Johnson & Johnson in Europe.
Board Chairman Brent Saunders lauds Malha as an “accomplished leader with extensive industry experience,” highlighting his proficiency in navigating intricate global markets and fostering collaborative, high-performing teams. This leadership shift occurs at a time when BeautyHealth reported net sales of $78.2 million for the second quarter, indicating persistent market challenges yet a strong foundation for potential growth.
