Philippines Shines with Nine Nominations at the 2025 World Travel Awards

The Philippines has proudly secured nine coveted nominations at the 32nd World Travel Awards (WTA) 2025, further solidifying its reputation as a premier global tourism hotspot. The country is vying for top spots in three significant national categories:

  • World’s Leading Dive Destination 2025
  • World’s Leading Beach Destination 2025 (a title it clinched in 2022 and 2023)
  • World’s Leading Island Destination 2025

This recognition underscores the Philippines’ diverse natural allure, from world-class beaches like White Beach in Boracay to the secluded shores of Palawan, and its extraordinary marine biodiversity, characterized by vibrant coral reefs and crystal-clear waters.

With 36,000 kilometers of coastline, the country offers a plethora of experiences catering to a wide range of travelers and budgets. In the first eight months of 2025 alone, the Philippines welcomed nearly four million foreign visitors, inching closer to its ambitious 8.4-million target for the year.

Beach tourism has become a vital pillar of the Philippine economy, contributing significantly to the country’s GDP as the nation continues to strengthen its robust regional presence in Asia.
