MT-Propeller Earns EASA and FAA Certifications for Diamond Aircraft Upgrade
MT-Propeller, the esteemed German propeller manufacturer, has proudly received supplemental type certificates (STCs) from both the EASA and FAA. These certifications allow for the installation of its state-of-the-art two-blade propeller system on Diamond DV20 and DA20-A1 aircraft.
The newly approved MTV-21-A/170-05 propeller is specifically certified for Diamond aircraft powered by Rotax 912 A3 or Rotax 912 F3 engines. This advanced propeller system offers substantial performance enhancements over standard propellers.
According to MT-Propeller Vice President Martin Albrecht, the installation provides several benefits including:
- Stainless steel leading edge protection
- Unlimited blade life
- Enhanced vibration damping characteristics for smoother operation
The composite propeller blades are not only field-repairable for foreign object damage, but also comply with strict German noise regulations. This compliance allows for unrestricted airport operations across Europe.
With over 230 STCs worldwide, MT-Propeller supplies propellers to more than 90% of the European aircraft industry and 30% of the U.S. aircraft industry. This latest certification significantly expands options for Diamond aircraft owners seeking performance upgrades.
