FDA Broadens Listeria Recall Tied to Fatalities at Prominent Retailers
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has significantly expanded an ongoing recall of ready-to-eat pasta meals sold at major retailers including Walmart, Trader Joe’s, and Kroger. This follows a deadly multi-state listeria outbreak that has claimed four lives.
The expanded recall now includes additional products such as Cajun Style Blackened Chicken Breast Fettuccine Alfredo sold at Trader Joe’s and various pasta salads available at Kroger locations. Public health officials have linked at least two new products to the outbreak, which continues to impact consumers nationwide.
Health authorities are urging consumers to check their refrigerators for affected products with specific establishment numbers and best-by dates ranging from June 2025 through October 2025. The listeria contamination has prompted increased scrutiny of food safety protocols at major food manufacturers and distributors.
