ATP Flight School Bolsters Training Capabilities with 54 New Cessna Skyhawks

ATP Flight School has significantly bolstered its training capabilities by taking delivery of 54 new Cessna Skyhawks in 2025, bringing its total fleet to 663 aircraft. This expansion underscores the school’s steadfast commitment to meeting the burgeoning demand for airline pilot training.

ATP has plans to further expand its fleet by adding another 40 Skyhawks in 2026 and over 135 more by 2027, with a target of a fleet exceeding 700 aircraft. The newly delivered Cessna 172s are equipped with the latest Garmin G1000 avionics systems, offering students a modern glass cockpit training experience.

Moreover, ATP will round off 2025 by taking delivery of seven Piper Seminoles for multiengine training, thereby enhancing their comprehensive pilot training program even further.

“At scale, ATP has one of the youngest, most advanced training fleets, and the continued investment in new aircraft demonstrates our shared commitment to the safety and success of our students,” said Michael Arnold, vice president of marketing at ATP Flight School.

The school reported conducting 80,000 student flights and graduating 588 airline pilot program students between June and September 2025. This fleet expansion comes at a time when the aviation industry is grappling with continued pilot shortages, positioning ATP as a leading provider of airline-ready pilots.

ATP operates at various locations across the United States, including recent additions in Albuquerque, New Mexico; Farmingdale, New York; and Oakland. The investment in new aircraft reflects the strong demand for professional pilot training and the school’s pivotal role in addressing the industry’s workforce needs.
