Business Aviation Skyrockets: A Historic Surge in Flights Recorded in September 2025

Business aviation is currently witnessing an unparalleled growth. According to WingX data, business jets recorded over 232,000 flights by September 25, 2025. This marks an impressive 11% increase compared to the same period in the previous year. These figures already set September 2025 as one of the busiest months ever in the history of private aviation. This follows a record-breaking August that witnessed 327,745 departures.

The surge is primarily attributed to fractional ownership programs such as NetJets and Flexjet. These programs have reported increases exceeding 20%. Additionally, the strong recovery of corporate travel across the United States, Europe, and Asia is also a significant contributor. In the first eight months of 2025 alone, operators recorded approximately 3.9 million flights, marking a 2.7% increase from the previous year. Business jet deliveries are projected to rise 8% to 11% in 2025, with forecasts suggesting a continued strong demand despite high order backlogs.

“September has been exceptional with 11% growth primarily driven by fractional operators,” commented Richard Koe, the Managing Director of WingX. The robust activity levels indicate that business aviation is operating at a higher baseline than in past cycles. Global flight counts remain more than 10% above pre-COVID levels.
