Breeze Airways Set to Launch First International Flights to Caribbean and Mexico

Breeze Airways, the startup carrier spearheaded by aviation veteran David Neeleman, unveiled plans on Thursday to initiate its inaugural international flights by early 2025. The ultra-low-cost carrier is set to commence seasonal service to sought-after leisure destinations such as Cancun, Mexico; Montego Bay, Jamaica; and Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, departing from various U.S. cities.

Mark your calendars for January 10, 2025, as this is when the first route takes off, providing seasonal service from Norfolk, Virginia to Cancun. This will be closely followed by service between Charleston and Cancun. This expansion signifies a substantial milestone for Breeze Airways, which has concentrated solely on domestic routes since its launch in 2021.

What distinguishes Breeze from other ultra-low-cost carriers is its premium strategy. The airline provides premium products and services, a move that executives attribute to the company’s profitability in its first quarter since launching. In the wake of this profitable quarter, Breeze is also contemplating an initial public offering (IPO), subject to market conditions.
