Meta Introduces AI-Enhanced Ray-Ban Display Glasses at Connect 2025

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg revealed the future of AI-powered smart glasses at Meta Connect 2025, launching the Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses at a price of $799 on September 30. These new glasses are equipped with the innovative Meta Neural Band wristband controller, which allows users to send text messages by writing in the air through gesture recognition.

Alongside this, the company also unveiled the Oakley Meta Vanguard smart glasses, a model designed specifically for athletes. The Vanguard glasses boast features such as:

  • IP67 water resistance
  • Open-air speakers
  • Integration with fitness apps like Strava and Garmin

With a price tag of $499, the Vanguard model will be available from October 21. It offers up to 9 hours of battery life, with an additional 36 hours provided by the charging case.

During a live demonstration, Meta showcased the glasses’ AI capabilities, including cooking assistance and real-time translation features. These new smart glasses signify Meta’s ambition to establish itself as a leader in wearable AI technology and augmented reality experiences, strategically positioning the company for the future of mixed reality computing.
