Apple’s Groundbreaking Launch: The Ultra-Thin iPhone Air and iPhone 17 Series
On September 9, 2025, Apple stirred the tech world at its “Awe-Dropping” event with the introduction of the iPhone 17 series, led by the game-changing iPhone Air – the company’s slimmest smartphone to date, measuring a mere 5.6mm in thickness. This new ultra-thin device, which replaces the iPhone Plus model, boasts a 6.6-inch screen equipped with 120Hz ProMotion display technology, all powered by the A19 Pro chip.
The iPhone Air, with a price tag of $999, joins the ranks of the standard iPhone 17 ($799), iPhone 17 Pro ($1,099), and iPhone 17 Pro Max ($1,199) in Apple’s 2025 lineup. All models come with significant enhancements such as:
- Larger displays
- Improved camera systems with a new 18MP Center Stage front camera
- Enhanced battery life
The Pro models also feature Apple’s pioneering vapor chamber cooling system for superior thermal management. Pre-orders are set to begin on September 12, with devices shipping out on September 19.
In addition to the new devices, Apple announced that iOS 26 will be available as a free update on September 15. This update brings new AI-powered features and improved performance across compatible devices.
