Vertical Aerospace Inaugurates VX4 Electric Air Taxi Production Facility in England

Vertical Aerospace, a leading British eVTOL manufacturer, has announced plans to set up a production facility at Cotswold Airport in southwest England. This facility will be dedicated to the manufacture of the initial models of its VX4 electric air taxi.

The new factory, conveniently located next to the company’s existing flight-test center, is projected to assemble 25 or more aircraft annually. This expansion will increase Vertical’s total footprint at Cotswold Airport to an impressive 100,000 square feet.

Moreover, Vertical Aerospace will establish a battery production plant at Avonmouth, near Bristol. This move is expected to triple the company’s battery manufacturing capacity.

The VX4, designed as a four-passenger electric aircraft with zero operating emissions, has already garnered approximately 1,500 pre-orders. Notable customers include American Airlines, Japan Airlines, and Virgin Atlantic.

Vertical Aerospace is set to complete transition flight testing by the end of 2025, with commercial operations anticipated to commence by 2028.
