JetBlue Solidifies Position as Fort Lauderdale’s Leading Airline with Extensive Expansion
JetBlue Airways has recently announced a major expansion at the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. This significant move cements its position as the airport’s top carrier, boasting up to 113 daily departures during peak winter periods – the highest number of any airline at the facility.
Starting in November 2025, JetBlue is set to launch nine new nonstop routes from Fort Lauderdale. These include service to Cali, Colombia – a completely new destination in the airline’s network. The other new routes are:
- Aruba
- Cartagena
- Grand Cayman
- Liberia (Costa Rica)
- New Orleans
- Pittsburgh
- San Pedro Sula (Honduras)
- St. Maarten
This expansion follows JetBlue’s addition of 17 new routes from Fort Lauderdale since the start of 2025. By December, the airline will reach a total of 46 nonstop destinations. Additionally, JetBlue plans to open a dedicated Mint base for premium service crew members in early 2026, further underscoring its commitment to South Florida.
“As the top airline in Fort Lauderdale, with more departures than any other carrier on peak travel days, JetBlue is proud to keep raising the bar for customers in South Florida,” said Dave Jehn, JetBlue’s vice president of network planning and airline partnerships. This expansion strategically positions JetBlue to capture market share as competitor Spirit Airlines faces financial challenges.
In celebration of this milestone, JetBlue is offering promotional fares starting at $113 from Fort Lauderdale to any of its 46 nonstop destinations this fall.
