Introducing the iPhone Air: Apple’s Thinnest Smartphone Redesign Yet
Apple has unveiled a major redesign of its flagship smartphone lineup. On September 9, the tech giant introduced the groundbreaking iPhone Air – the thinnest iPhone ever made, measuring just 5.6mm in thickness. This new device, priced at $999, signifies the first significant iPhone design overhaul since the iPhone X was launched in 2017.
The iPhone Air boasts a titanium frame that Apple has dubbed as “space grade,” promising unprecedented durability despite its ultra-slim profile. Remarkably, it is 28% thinner than the standard iPhone 16. The device is available in four distinct colors: space black, cloud white, light gold, and sky blue.
Despite concerns about battery life due to its thin form factor, Apple assures users of the Air’s “amazing all-day battery life.” This is made possible through an internal architecture that optimizes battery space and the new iOS 26 power-saving features.
Alongside the iPhone Air, Apple also introduced the iPhone 17 series. These new models come with improved 48-megapixel cameras, larger 6.3-inch displays, and enhanced durability through the “ceramic shield 2” technology. All new devices are equipped with the A19 chip series.
Pre-orders for these exciting new devices will start on September 12, with general availability commencing on September 19.
