Introducing Apple Watch Series 11: A Revolutionary Leap in Blood Pressure Detection
Apple has unveiled the groundbreaking Apple Watch Series 11 on September 9, 2025, marking the debut of the world’s first hypertension detection feature in a consumer smartwatch. This revolutionary technology employs machine learning algorithms to analyze blood vessel responses via the optical heart sensor, monitoring patterns over 30-day periods to alert users of potential chronic high blood pressure.
“Hypertension impacts approximately 1.3 billion adults globally and is frequently undiagnosed because it often has no symptoms,” stated Dr. Sumbul Ahmad Desai, Apple’s VP of Health. The feature was developed using advanced machine learning methods and studies involving over 100,000 participants, with validation in clinical trials with more than 2,000 participants.
With FDA clearance expected soon, the Series 11 is set to be available in over 150 countries this month. The Series 11, priced at $399, also boasts of several other features:
- Improved battery life up to 24 hours
- 5G connectivity
- A sleep score feature
Pre-orders began immediately with availability starting September 19.
