WTTC President & CEO Julia Simpson Misses Rome Global Summit Due to Illness

The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) has recently announced that its President & CEO, Julia Simpson, will be unable to attend the upcoming Global Summit in Rome, scheduled for September 28-30, due to illness.

Former President & CEO, Gloria Guevara, will temporarily return to her previous role and lead the global tourism body through the conclusion of its Global Summit. WTTC Chair, Greg O’Hara, has expressed his best wishes for Julia’s swift recovery and extended his gratitude to Gloria for stepping in during such a pivotal moment.

The Rome summit marks the 25th WTTC Global Summit, a significant milestone for the organization that represents the travel and tourism sector on a global scale. This leadership change comes at a critical time as the industry continues to navigate the ongoing challenges and recovery efforts.
