BETA Technologies Marks Aviation Milestone with First Electric Cargo Flight in Norway
Bristow Norway etched its name in aviation history on September 4, 2025, by completing the first simulated cargo mission between Stavanger and Bergen using BETA Technologies’ all-electric ALIA CX300 aircraft. This milestone flight, which took 55 minutes, signifies a significant leap towards zero-emission aviation operations.
The groundbreaking flight was conducted under the aegis of Norway’s international test arena for zero- and low-emission aviation. It simulated a real cargo service route that will be operated regularly throughout the test program. “We’re thrilled to have flights between Stavanger and Bergen now in motion,” said Shawn Hall, BETA’s Chief Revenue Officer. “This phase is critical for capturing the real-world data needed to understand how electric aircraft can operate effectively in this unique landscape.”
This achievement is a testament to BETA’s burgeoning presence in electric aviation. The company has already made significant strides in the field, as evidenced by the following:
- Delivery of over 46 charging stations across 22 U.S. states
- Completion of numerous military and civilian test flights
The insights gleaned from the Norway test flights will prove invaluable in understanding the operational aspects of both ground and air operations of electric aircraft under the challenging Nordic conditions.
