EAA Unveils Young Eagles Connect: A Portal for Aviation Mentorship
The Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) has launched a new platform, Young Eagles Connect, to further support young aviation enthusiasts. This free portal, an extension of the Young Eagles program, aims to connect budding aviators with mentors who can provide guidance and encouragement throughout their journey in aviation.
Open to all EAA Young Eagles enrolled in the complimentary Sporty’s Learn-To-Fly Course, the portal provides a platform for students to share their course progress with their mentors. These mentors, which may include their Young Eagles pilot or EAA chapter members, can then track and support the student’s training journey more effectively.
“The goal of Young Eagles Connect is to have aspiring aviators stay connected, stay inspired, and stay on course,” said David Leiting, EAA Eagles Program Manager. Since its inception in July 1992, the EAA Young Eagles Program has provided over 2.4 million free flights, serving as a cornerstone of EAA’s comprehensive youth aviation education programs.
