Classic Colors Make a Comeback at Disney World’s Cinderella Castle

Disney World has unveiled plans for a significant makeover of its iconic Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom. The castle is set to return to its classic color scheme, a move that fans have eagerly anticipated. The updated palette will feature a blend of grays, creams, blues, and touches of gold, designed to accentuate the castle’s architectural beauty. This marks a significant shift from the pink and blue scheme introduced during the 50th anniversary celebrations in 2020.

The announcement was made at the “Beyond the Spires: An Insider Look at Disney Castles” panel during Destination D23 on August 31, 2025. Disney Imagineers presented concept art of the new color palette, drawing inspiration from the castle’s original look at its grand opening in 1971. The colors have been carefully selected to reflect the Florida sunshine, creating a shimmering effect on the castle from every angle.

Although Disney has yet to announce an official timeline for the restoration, the project signifies a substantial commitment to preserving the castle’s visual allure. The paint used will undergo rigorous UV and weather testing to ensure it withstands Florida’s harsh climate.
