Vietnam: The Rising Star in Global Tourism
In 2025, Vietnam has made a significant mark on the global tourism map, ranking as the fourth fastest-growing travel destination worldwide. According to the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), the country has witnessed a staggering 38.64% increase in international arrivals.
This impressive growth places Vietnam just behind South Korea (48.82%), Japan (47.09%), and Chile (40.42%) in terms of tourism growth. The surge in Vietnam’s tourism is largely attributed to its rich cultural heritage, breathtaking natural wonders, and a vibrant culinary scene.
The year 2025 is being celebrated as the National Tourism Year in Hue, Vietnam. The city is hosting over 170 events across four seasonal festivals under the theme “Hue – Ancient Capital, New Opportunity.”
The tourism boom is also a reflection of the country’s improved infrastructure, increased international airline routes, and strategic positioning as a gateway to Southeast Asia. Industry experts are optimistic about the continued growth of Vietnam’s tourism sector, as more airlines are expected to add routes to Vietnam and the country further develops its tourism infrastructure to accommodate the increasing number of visitors.
