Refunds Issued to Air Racing Enthusiasts Following Class Withdrawals

The Reno Air Racing Association (RARA) has made a significant announcement: fans will receive refunds in the wake of the withdrawal of the Unlimited and Sport race classes from the 2025 National Championship Air Races, set to take place in Roswell, New Mexico.

All existing ticket holders will automatically benefit from a 10% refund, and future ticket sales will see a similar reduction. Furthermore, fans have the option to request full refunds or defer their tickets to the 2026 event.

The Sport Class made its exit in July, with the Unlimited Class following suit in August. The reasons given were logistical and operational concerns at the new venue.

Despite these challenges, the event scheduled for September 10-14 will still showcase five race classes, airshow performances, military displays, and a STEM Discovery Zone.

‘The withdrawal of these two classes is disappointing, but it is not the end of air racing,’ said Fred Telling, RARA Chairman and CEO.

The organization remains dedicated to the inaugural Roswell event and anticipates the return of the withdrawn classes in 2026.
