Revolutionary Liquid Glass Design Unveiled in Apple’s iOS 26 Beta
Apple is forging ahead with the beta testing of iOS 26, introducing a groundbreaking “Liquid Glass” design language. This significant visual overhaul, the most since iOS 7, infuses the operating system with translucent, glass-like interface elements.
Announced at WWDC 2025, this update ushers in a unified design across all Apple platforms. In a departure from tradition, Apple has skipped version numbers 19-25 to align with a new year-based naming system. Representing the 2025-2026 release season, iOS 26 is scheduled for launch this September.
Key Features of iOS 26
- Enhanced Apple Intelligence with over 20 new AI features
- Improved Phone app featuring Call Screening and Hold Assist
- Real-time translation for Messages and FaceTime
- A brand new Games app
The Liquid Glass aesthetic permeates the Lock Screen, Home Screen, Control Center, and all native apps, presenting rounded, translucent elements that play with light reflection and refraction.
The Phone app now boasts a unified design that merges recent calls, missed calls, and voicemails on a single screen, while still maintaining compatibility with the iOS 18 layout. Furthermore, Apple Intelligence has expanded its language support to include Danish, Dutch, Norwegian, and Turkish.
