Louis Vuitton’s Historic Entry into Luxury Beauty with $160 Lipstick Launch
Louis Vuitton has officially launched its first-ever makeup collection, La Beauté Louis Vuitton, marking a historic entry into the luxury beauty market.
Created by renowned makeup artist Dame Pat McGrath as Creative Director, the collection features:
- 55 lipsticks
- 10 lip balms
- 8 eyeshadow palettes
The lipsticks and balms retail for $160 each, with eyeshadow palettes priced at $250, making it one of the most expensive premium beauty ranges on the market.
The collection launches globally on August 29 in select Louis Vuitton stores and online. The 55 lipstick shades are a clever nod to the Roman numerals LV, offering both matte and satin finishes with ingredients like shea butter and hyaluronic acid. Each product comes in refillable packaging designed with Louis Vuitton’s signature monogram elements.
McGrath, who has worked backstage at Louis Vuitton fashion shows for over 20 years, emphasized that the products represent “extraordinary craftsmanship, creativity, and innovation” aimed at unlocking “a new level in luxury beauty.” The collection will initially be available at 116 Louis Vuitton stores globally, positioning it as an ultra-premium beauty experience.
