Embraer E-Freighter Marks New Era in Air Cargo with Q3 2025 Launch and First Customer
Embraer has announced that Bridges Air Cargo will be the inaugural customer for its groundbreaking E190F passenger-to-freight conversion, signifying a pivotal moment in regional air cargo transport. The first of two converted aircraft is slated to commence service in Q3 2025, leased through Regional One.
The E-Freighter program is a response to the escalating demands from e-commerce and contemporary trade for expedited deliveries to secondary and tertiary markets. The converted E190F boasts more than 40% additional volume capacity compared to large cargo turboprops, triple the range, and up to 30% reduced operating costs compared to larger narrowbodies. It also has a maximum structural payload of 13,500 kg.
“It’s fitting that Bridges becomes the launch customer as we celebrate 35 years of operations,” said Guy Bridges, Managing Director. The aircraft has received triple certification from FAA, EASA, and ANAC, positioning it as a game-changer in regional cargo operations.
