Initial Report on West Glacier Fatal Plane Crash Released by NTSB

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has released its preliminary report on a fatal plane crash that occurred near West Glacier, Montana. The tragic incident took place on July 26, 2025, when a Grumman AA-5 aircraft crashed at approximately 9:42 a.m., leading to the unfortunate demise of both the pilot and the passenger.

The aircraft collided with trees and terrain, which resulted in a post-impact fire. The accident occurred in a wooded and rocky terrain, approximately 440 feet away from the runway’s end. During the takeoff, two other aircraft were in the vicinity and were in communication with the accident aircraft.

The investigation into this tragic incident is ongoing as authorities are working diligently to determine the cause of the crash.
