Van’s RV-15: A New Era in High-Wing Aviation Now Accepting Orders at AirVenture 2025
Van’s Aircraft made a significant mark in aviation history at the EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2025. The company officially launched orders for their first-ever high-wing aircraft, the RV-15. They began accepting deposits for wing kits priced at $19,650, with delivery expected by the end of 2025.
“The RV-15 is a game changer for the backcountry flying community,” said Mikael Via, Van’s Aircraft CEO.
The aircraft boasts a Lycoming IO-390 engine, cable-driven flaps, and the ability to cruise at 140 knots. Despite its power, it maintains docile handling characteristics, making it suitable for challenging remote airstrips. Complete kits are priced at $85,000, excluding engine, propeller, and avionics.
The production rollout will continue with tail kits available in December 2025, followed by fuselage kits in August 2026. The RV-15 represents a significant expansion for Van’s Aircraft, which has focused on low-wing designs since 1972.
