Pilatus Aircraft Suspends US Deliveries Amidst 39% Swiss Tariff
Swiss aircraft manufacturer Pilatus Aircraft has temporarily suspended all deliveries of its PC-12 and PC-24 business aircraft to the United States. This decision follows the implementation of a 39% tariff on Swiss goods by the Trump administration on August 6, 2025.
The company announced the halt on August 8, citing a “significant competitive disadvantage“. The tariff substantially increases final prices for US operators. This suspension affects approximately 40% of Pilatus’s annual production. Notably, four out of every 10 PC-12s and PC-24s manufactured are typically delivered to American customers.
Pilatus is now focusing on maintaining production while exploring alternative markets. They are also accelerating plans for local US assembly. This includes an expansion of its facility in Sarasota, Florida. The Swiss Federal Council has indicated it “remains determined to find a solution” for the prompt removal of the tariff.
