Windows 11 Ushers in AI-Powered Era with Major August 2025 Update

Microsoft has started the rollout of its August 2025 Security Update for Windows 11 on August 12, marking the beginning of a new era in personal computing with significant AI-powered features. The update introduces eight major enhancements to version 24H2, including a revamped Windows Recall functionality equipped with export capabilities and comprehensive reset options for users within the European Economic Area.

The update unveils a revolutionary AI agent for the Settings app, designed to assist users in finding configurations and troubleshooting issues using natural language. Users can now input queries such as “my mouse pointer is too small” and receive AI-powered recommendations complete with one-click application options.

Additional features include:

  • Expanded Click to Do actions for Microsoft Teams
  • Redesigned Search settings page
  • New gamepad keyboard layout with PIN sign-in support

With this release, the Quick Machine Recovery (QMR) feature also becomes available, further solidifying Microsoft’s commitment to AI-enhanced user experiences. These features are exclusive to Copilot+ PCs and represent Microsoft’s most significant Windows update focused on artificial intelligence integration.
