Avidyne’s Vantage 12 Flight Display System Earns FAA Certification for Cirrus Aircraft Retrofit

Avidyne Corporation has been granted certification by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for its Vantage 12 Flight Display System. This system is specifically designed for retrofit in Cirrus aircraft, targeting over 4,000 Entegra-equipped and pre-Entegra Cirrus SR20/22 Series aircraft. The upgrade offers significant modernization capabilities.

The Vantage 12 system boasts dual 12-inch touchscreen displays that replace the aging Entegra systems. It provides enhanced features such as:

  • 3D Synthetic Vision
  • Terrain awareness
  • Split-screen mapping
  • Dual-redundant attitude sensors

“While modernizing their flight deck with great new features, current Entegra users will find the Vantage 12 system very familiar to operate,” said Dan Schwinn, Avidyne’s CEO.

The upgrade can be implemented in a modular fashion, allowing Cirrus owners to upgrade in stages or all at once. Many Cirrus owners already have compatible DFC90 autopilots and Avidyne IFD navigators. Initial deliveries and customer installations are currently underway.
