Paramore’s Hayley Williams Co-Founded Hair Brand Achieves Remarkable Turnaround Success
Good Dye Young, the hair color brand co-founded by Paramore’s Hayley Williams and stylist Brian O’Connor, has achieved a remarkable turnaround after nearly failing in its early years. The brand is now on track to meet its ambitious 2025 revenue goal of $15 million, marking a dramatic recovery from its struggling big-box retail strategy.
The turnaround came after the brand shifted focus from mass retail partnerships with Walmart and Target to building a professional stylist network. “We’ve taken the past eight to 10 months and had Brian pivot the brand into the pro community in a very meaningful way,” Williams explained. “We’re seeing results. We’re seeing profit.”
The brand’s latest success came with a unique marketing strategy:
- Customers who purchased their new “Ego” yellow hair dye received exclusive access to 17 new unreleased Hayley Williams songs.
- The promotion caused the $19 product to sell out in just five hours, with resellers now offering it on eBay for over $120.
Williams and O’Connor are now seeking outside funding to fuel further growth.
