Dubai International Airport Welcomes Record-Breaking 46 Million Passengers in First Half of 2025
Dubai International Airport (DXB) celebrated a historic achievement, welcoming 46 million passengers in the first half of 2025. This marks a 2.3% increase from the previous year and sets a new record for any six-month period. This accomplishment is particularly noteworthy considering the temporary regional airspace disruptions during the Iran-Israel conflict in May and June.
The busiest month was January, with 8.5 million passengers. Daily traffic averaged 254,000 travelers. The top three countries contributing to DXB’s traffic were:
- India with 5.9 million passengers
- Saudi Arabia with 3.6 million passengers
- United Kingdom with 3 million passengers
Among city destinations, London topped the list with 1.8 million passengers. DXB now projects reaching 96 million passengers by year-end, inching closer to the symbolic 100 million milestone.
The airport’s operational efficiency remained high. A remarkable 99.2% of passengers cleared departure immigration in under 10 minutes. Baggage handling maintained an impressive rate of just 2 mishandled bags per 1,000 passengers.
