Guardian Avionics System: A Revolutionary Leap in Flight Technology by Nighthawk Flight Systems
Nighthawk Flight Systems proudly introduced their pioneering Guardian large-format glass cockpit avionics system at the EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2025. This innovative system, remarkable for its lightweight design, weighs up to 50% less than similar avionics. Yet, it offers superior synthetic vision technology and customizable displays.
The Guardian system is equipped with a compact computing center, aptly named the “NEST”. This center houses modular “blades” specifically designed for mission computing, air data systems, and smart I/O connectivity. Comp Air Aviation has chosen the Guardian as the preferred cockpit for its 6.2 Piston and 6.2 Turbine utility aircraft. The initial availability is slated for late 2025.
“Our aim with Guardian was to provide general aviation aircraft with an affordable system that not only matches the functions and features of advanced glass systems but surpasses them,” says CEO Paul Martin. The system consolidates traffic, terrain, weather, and obstacle data into high-resolution 3D displays. Furthermore, it integrates seamlessly with existing cockpit avionics through programmable touchscreen interfaces.
