Samsung Galaxy S25 Receives July 2025 Security Update Prior to One UI 8 Release

Samsung has initiated the global rollout of the July 2025 security update for Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra devices. The update, which started in South Korea, is set to expand worldwide.

The 538MB update addresses a total of 40 security vulnerabilities. These include one critical and 21 high-level issues in Android, along with 17 additional Samsung-specific fixes.

The update brings enhancements to several features, such as:

  • Knox security
  • Galaxy Watch system interface
  • Samsung Account protection
  • Wi-Fi passwords
  • Bluetooth functionality
  • Emergency SOS features

Galaxy S25 users can recognize the update by build number AYF6. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S24 series receives similar protection with build number BYF1.

This security patch is released as Samsung gears up for the stable release of One UI 8 Beta 4. This update is expected to be available next week for Galaxy S25 series users who are part of the beta program.

The stable One UI 8 update, which is based on Android 16, is anticipated to roll out in early August. This will follow the fourth beta release.

Canadian and US users have already received the update. Samsung’s typical staged rollout pattern ensures global availability in the coming weeks.
