AerFin Accomplishes Significant Achievement with CFM56 Engine Revival
British aviation asset specialist, AerFin, has triumphantly accomplished its first full-cycle in-house engine repair and return-to-service. This marks a significant milestone in the company’s growing MRO capabilities. The project involved the revival of a CFM56 engine, which was originally deemed unserviceable.
The engine in question was part of a trio acquired for teardown. However, AerFin’s astute trading team identified untapped potential within the unit. Instead of dismantling all three engines, they implemented a targeted repair strategy. This involved replacing the 21X and 22X modules with serviceable components from another engine in the package.
All work was meticulously completed at AerFin’s MRO facility in Indurent Park, South Wales. The successful repair showcases the company’s integrated approach to aviation asset management.
