Microsoft’s Copilot Vision Now Offers Comprehensive Desktop View
Microsoft has recently launched a significant update to its Copilot Vision AI assistant for Windows Insiders. This update allows the AI to view and analyze a user’s entire desktop for the first time. Previously, the AI was only able to monitor two applications at a time. Now, with the new “Desktop Share” feature, it can view any open browser, app window, or the complete desktop environment.
This upgrade enables Copilot to deliver real-time insights, analysis, and verbal coaching across all on-screen content. Users can activate this feature by clicking the glasses icon in the Copilot app and selecting which desktop or application they want to share with the AI assistant.
Microsoft has emphasized that Copilot Vision operates on an opt-in basis. It only activates when users choose to turn it on, effectively addressing privacy concerns.
The new feature can assist with a variety of tasks, including:
- Creative projects
- Resume improvements
- Navigation guidance for new software applications
This development is part of Microsoft’s broader strategy to seamlessly integrate AI assistance into daily workflows. It effectively transforms Copilot from a dual-app monitoring tool into a comprehensive desktop assistant.
